B i o g r a p h y

I was born in a small town in Oregon, close to the Idaho border, into a family of beekeepers. At the age of 14 (and out of love for guitar sounds and a certain amount of boredom), I decided I wanted to take guitar lessons. My dad indulged me and purchased me my first guitar; thus starting my journey into the music world.  Hey, I was young and discovered that the way to a girl's heart was through music.

It worked for The Beatles, right?

Through the years, I have been privileged to play in a variety of different bands as well as solo gigs across the better part of the west coast of  California, Washington & Oregon to Montana, Alaska, and Hawaii.  Nevada has been mine and my family's home now since 1994...Minden, since 2002.

Don't be fooled by the lack of band members in my set up these days. Although you will see just me and my guitar on stage, you won't be missing the effects of a well rounded group...all tucked away in the comfort of my midi system. Professionalism at it's finest as these "band mates" are always on time, have no scheduling conflicts, never show up to a gig intoxicated and seldom lose track of the arrangements. Who could ask for anything more?

Me, with my beautiful daughter Hayley

With an appreciation for most genres of music, my playlist is versatile: Modern country, country classics, blues, jazz, oldies, and classic rock. This is attributed to an assortment of musical influences I've had through the years. The instrumental and vocal styles of Johnny Rivers, Glen Campbell, George Benson and of course the "master" Chet Atkins can be accredited for my passion for "pickin' and grinnin."  And although I have my own unique sound, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce and the Eagles have been inspirational in my vocal style.

A special thanks to my late brother-in-law, Vernon Rice for his creative artwork  and  of course, my wonderful daughter Hayley for her  amazing photography.
